Bet ya'll thought I was thru with the blogging huh??? You should be so lucky!!!
Where to start with all that has been going on? mmmmmm.....

Lets start with the BIG 40!!! All I can say is I must be gettin old cuz I was in bed by 10:00pm on the day of my birthday. But I did go to Toronto that weekend (haha, had ya'll fooled din't I), which more than made up for the lack of b-day spirit at home!!! Geez, don't know why I was sooooo freaked out about it after all it's just a number (yeah right)! Besides which, when I think about it, I'll never be as old as some o my friends (you know who u r....lol)!!!

Then it was off to the 'Peg for Christmas (whooooweee, that was a busy time). BG & I got to pick up our pride & joy, Baby Haley, for a couple o' days with just Grampa & Gramma Val (ouch, that 1 still hurts, although, not as much)! We took her to BG's mom & dad's to spend a nite & then on to my mom & dad's for a nite (which was great, cuz my folks have never met Haley) pictured here, myself, my dad & Haley. I got to spend some time with a few old friends, 1 who came in from BC, 1 who came in from Red Deer & some that are still there! Which brought about feelings of why oh why did I leave the 'Peg, oh yeah, cuz it's freaking COLD there in the winter!!! All in all, it was a great visit, but there just wasn't enough time to see & do everything I would have liked to have done. But I will return in June, hopefully at the same time as my brother Derrick & his wife Pam from Edmonton & my sister Darlene from BC!!! And, introducing the biggest & best influence in my life, MY MOM with Baby Haley!!!

Anyhow, getting kinda late, so say g'nite Gracie....until tomorrow!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!! Just when I thought that I was almost used to the trauma of turning the BIG 4-0, last week a brand new trauma hit me! BG's son Kevin, his girlfriend Laura & the grandkiddies descended upon our little beachside home for the week! Let me tell you turning 40 has nothing on being called GRAMMA for the 1st time!!! I woke on Tuesday morning to Kevin & Bryon giving baby Haley (age 14 months) a bath (due to a poopy diaper), they decided that they were gonna go get a coffee & newspaper & just do some guy bonding, so it was up to me to finish baby's bath, diaper her, get her dressed & feed her some breakfast. This was all going great until Dakota (age 5) came strolling out of what is now referred to as the boy's room and plunked himself down beside me on da couch. "Did you have a good sleep?" I asked, "yes" he answered, just about then little Cyress (age 3) awoke & came & sat with us. All of a sudden Dakota looked at me & said "GRAMMA?" I can honestly say that I did not hear the rest of the question he was trying to ask as I couldn't breath nor see or hear for the black fog that was rolling around in my brain!!! Well, don't you just know that Bryon & Kevin showed up from their little bonding session & Bryon snapped this pic of me & the boys!!! (If I look a bit stunned it's because I couldn't decide if I was gonna be sick or break out into a big grin at being called gramma!)

We had lots of fun going to Colasanti's Tropical Gardens which has a petting zoo full of baby goats, big goats, chickens, roosters & even a donkey!!! Of course, proud grampa Bryon had to take a pic of me & baby at the petting zoo. Baby Haley was a bit afraid of the black & white lemurs, who kept coming up to the window & making her jump!!! It was quite cute actually!!! They bought BG & I a beautiful minature Rose bush & something called a Peacock plant (when it blooms, the flowers look like peacock feathers!) We took everybody to the Windsor Crossing Outlet Mall. BG & I took the boys & let them run wild in & around the parking lot so Laura, Kevin & baby Haley could do some shopping without havin to keep an eye on the boys.

Fun was had by all & then it was time to take them to Toronto to catch the train for Winnipeg. BG & I had 2 daze of lazin' around after which it was time to start the clean up!!! Who knew being called gramma was so much work!!! LOL

Helllooooo everyone!!! Sorry it's been awhile since my last post, been away on holidays & the like.

BG & I went to Vancouver for a couple of weeks in August & I am just finally starting to recover from all the great fun that was had by all!!! We got to visit our friend Gerry, my sister Darlene & her husband John, my stompin' friend Karen, & we made some new friends as well, Dar & John's next door neighbors Dini & Wayne !!!(Actually, Bryon went to school with Wayne a loooong time ago in Winnipeg!)
Here is a pic of all of us camping at BEAUTIFUL Golden Ears Provincial Park, on the left, Bryon & I, in the middle, Dar & John, & bringing up the right hand side, Dini & Wayne. We had a great time nestled in the Mountains & swimming in Alouette Lake, drinking mulled wine (which I had never tried b4) & making S'mores by the campfire!!!

Alas, our time was over so quickly & I was sad to go, but I have made a promise to myself that I will go back next summer!!!

Good morning I say to everyone! Although, I don't know how much of a good morning it can be when, not 5 minutes after a conversation with Barb about Earwigs (you know those slimy, scary looking lil bugs that move like lightning & have pinchers on their backs), I was clearing some papers from my bulletin board...when low & behold 2 of the lil buggers go shooting across the kitchen floor, scaring the sh** outta me!!! Damn, it's a good thing that the fly swatter was very close at hand (not to mention the toilet paper), hadda hit 'em both a coupla times cuz they were still twitchin after the 1st time.

Anyhow, onto the gossip at hand. I would like to give a great big HELLO to a new fellow blogger, Realm of the Beancounter!!! Welcome Bean!

I started a new job last week and it's going rather well I think. Getting up at 4:30 or 5:00 am has never been my thing, but I'm getting used to it and actually starting to enjoy it!!! But I must say that the birds that are flying around as I'm driving into work at 6ish should probably try coffee in the morning. Yesterday on my way into work, I'm sipping on my coffee & they are dive bombing the car, now keep in mind that I'm not quite awake either, but havin to dodge birds on the highway sure can wake you up quick!!! The Kamikazees!!!

I'm preppin for a trip out to BC. to visit my sisiter & her husband & my good friend who just moved out there too. My neice who has been in Cambodia, Thailand & the like for the last 4 months will be there as well, although she will be leaving for Manitboa the day after I get there. But that's okay I say to myself, cuz she will be in Ontario shortly after I get back from my trip, so I'm hoping she will come check out the humble beach pad for a couple of days!!!

Oh, yeah, bout that birthday party I went to. A great time was had by all & I was given pictures of the party only under threat of bamboo shoots under my fingernails if I posted any pix on my blog...mmmm, should I or shouldn't I??? Nah, it's hard enough to grow my fingernails without bamboo shoots under 'em. You can relax for now girlz....

Back to my day off & being chased around the house by earwigs. Think maybe I'll just go outside & putter in the yard until BG gets home to fight them off!

Well, here we are a beautiful Saturday morning & I'm wondering what to do with myself for the day. Should I go outside & take out the lily of the valley that seems to have grown little brown age spots (sorta like me), or should I go have a coffee by the lake?

I have a birthday party to go to 2nite & I'm tryin to decide what to wear, it will be an evenin' filled with laughter & Margaritas....Arriba!!! Oh yeah, and apparently some Karaoke, yippee!!! Now you just know the more the Margaritas flow, the better I'm gonna sound!!! I hope I get invited back.

Speakin' of birthdays, my 40th is comin up pretty darn quick & I'm thinkin I'm just gonna build an igloo in the back yard & hide out there until it's over (hopefully, I'll freeze to death 1st so I won't know that 40 snuck up on me.) Where oh where did my 20's & the ability to party without havin' ta take 3 daze of recovery go? My older friends say that turnin 40 ain't so bad, I mean after all it's just 20 + 20, right? I DON'T THINK SO!!! For me it's a major shake up, I mean this is serious right? I've noticed that my skin & boobs don't have the same elasticity that it used to, the stuff that used to bounce right back, now hasta bounce & bounce & bounce some more & then sink to the nether regions.

Anyhow, so much for pullin the lily of the valley, I'm going back to bed & hope that when I wake up I'll be 41!!!
